Title: "Platespeak"
Post by: Uncle Mort on November 10, 2008, 09:21:19 AM
Platespeak ~ for example "5" for an "S" or an "A" for a "4" so as to make a word.

Hair stylist Nicky Clarke with his personalised number plate

There's a proposal by an Essex (why am I not surprised?) MP who wants to loosen up the law on personalised number plates.

As far as I'm concerned they all spell PRAT

So long as it not obscene many US States allow, at a price, one to design and register a "personal" plate. I frankly don't think it matters much as long as the vehicle is traceable via the registration. What I do dislike is when people break the laws on character size and spacing which makes taking note of a number difficult.

I did once see a "corrupted " plate T055ER ~ that even I would have paid money to own.
