It seems that The Audit Commission, a Government "Watchdog" that seeks to ensure that £180bn of public sector spending provides "value for taxpayers", has "invested £10 million with two Icelandic Banks. £5m in April and another £5m in June of this year ~ Long after the first alarm bells were sounded by Liberal and Tory MPs.
The commission has said the deposits were in "full compliance" with their guidelines "on prudent investment".
