£37 Billion 'bailout' of the banks. The head of RBS gone, FTSE up 5%. Other Central Banks likely to do similar moves for their troubled banks.
Has the day been saved? or just a blip on the slippery slope to oblivion?
Do I really care anymore?

rubschin: Golden Brown will tell us he has come out of this smelling of roses ~ interesting that the two Scottish banks involved in the whole farrago are getting most of the money and there is a Scottish bye election coming up.
-
There's a good chance that if this succeeds then he will gain out of it. There's talk of this being his 'Falklands moment'.
Remember, Thatcher was very unpopular before that war.
-
He is putting our money into effing Scotland and Salmond is asking for more. And yes, the by election looms.
Maybe Mandy should redistribute his two salaries. He can afford it.

Fortunately others are at work to stab Broon in the back even as we speak.
Step forward Old Permatan

The chancellor must take emergency steps to prevent rail, water and power companies going bust in the global economic storm, former cabinet minister Peter Hain has warned.
Hain, the former work and pensions secretary, urged the government to draw up reserve powers that could be used in the event of a major utility collapsing and taking vital services with it. His words follow jitters in the City about the damage a freeze in bank lending could do to some companies that have borrowed heavily to invest in infrastructure.

Possibly a spoof, but I think not eveilgrin:
In 2008, adulterated milk caused kidney stones in tens of thousands of consumers. To show his confidence in Chinese diary products, Mandelson drank a glass of Chinese milk in front of reporters.[19] Nine days later, he was hospitalized for a kidney stone.[20][21]

I think a spoof - it'll take longer than 9 days to calcify. rubschin:

Well Gordo seems to have saved the day.
Share prices are soaring all over the world.
Inflation is well up but that doesn't matter ~ except that the latest rise is the one that all benefits will be based on for the next 12 months so all in receipt of benefits will do well out of it and the Treasury will have to find yet more money to fund the extra payments.
In future nobody will be able to buy a house on a mortgage unless Nulabour says they can meanwhile the building industry is flat on its back and council houses are no longer being built.
rubschin: Time to buy shares in a tent making company perhaps.
-
The shares are only up until the traders cash in their profits next week... The shite is far too deep and clingy for the current actions to have caused a recovery. noooo:
or am I being cynical...? rubschin:

Cynical? ~ Probably. whistle:
