Jobs and such, like.
I should be calling the roofer
And doing some werk for Mrs Windmill
ANd reading a report
And prolly emptying the washer
But I can't be arsed.
Instead I fired off an e mail to ASDA complaining about their sign that says "Kid's" in the Kids' Department cussing: cussing:
-
I should be moving some dosh around, it being the 1st Oct, if only Online Banking were werking Banghead
-
IIRC Bertrand Russell defined "werk" as "moving things around at or near the Earth's surface".Nicely reductive.
So if I tidy my desk.............
-
1) Researching an article on a Major Raymond Simmonds who left a bequest to provide two prizes to be awarded to children annually at the local school but no-one knows who he was or why the bequest.
2) Looking after two little boys both home from school ill (1 has a cold and the other earache).
3) Writing letters to the Local Authority and others seeking information for another article.
4) Writing to the Arts Council for information concerning a grant for a charity that I am a Trustee of.
5) Planning and preparing the evening meal.
6) Accounts sick2:
7) Writing a lengthy reply to a recently found cousin answering his questions regarding the family history.
Anything that SWMBO feels should have been done but hasn't by the time she gets in at 4.45pm
This generic heading covers loading dishwasher, some ironing, clean, set and light the fires, make beds, entertain little boys without allowing "too much" TV watching etc.
-
Instead of which.............
-
We sit here talking about not doing it. noooo:

On the news this morning it seemed mainly aimed at getting youngsters to dig for victory in the crumblies allotments.
-
This one looks riveting eeek:
Musical entertainment
Featuring David Carter on his accordion.
-
You'll be old and crumbly yourself one day young lady.
As for Nick ~ he's already made it point:
-
Speaking as a crumblie
TURD IN YOUR TEETH
And I do not have an allotment (yet)

I have been out all morning offering advice on hedge and fence maintenance, ploughs and field drainage.
Then I had a pub lunch.
I shall now sit back and rest my eyes, after which it will probably be dark outside.

Have you been consulting or bossing the peons around?
Or perhaps exercising Droit de seigneur <snigger>

Old people do not need as much sleep as young'uns ~ it's a well known fact.
They like to get to the shops and get the hardest part of their day over before they get too tired to do anything.
I do far more in the mornings than I can manage in the afternoons and by 6pm I'm knackered.
If I don't get up and get on in the mornings the day is a write off and nothing gets done ~ and I'm 61.

Putting things off, as usual, during the present situation. At least procrastinating means I have something to look forward to
tomorrow later in the week. And that is deferred gratification, and that is meant to be a good thing, so being lazy is now a virtue
