But "I was forced into tax credit fraud because of a voodoo curse" has to be a new one on me.
A woman who produced human fingers in court in a bid to explain her involvement in a £925,000 tax credit fraud has been jailed for five years.
Remi Fakorede, 46, from Hackney, east London, told Snaresbrook Crown Court, she had been forced into crime by a voodoo curse on her and her family.
Fakorede claimed the same voodoo curse caused the fingers belonging to one of her six children to fall off.
She was convicted of one count of fraud between 1 August 2002 and 26 June 2007.
'Utterly disgraceful'
Her daughter, Denise Shofolawe-Cokerenise, 21, was jailed for 12 months at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Thursday after being found guilty of laundering £70,000 of the stolen money.
Judge Jacqueline Beech said the 46-year-old Nigerian-born defendant's behaviour was "utterly disgraceful" and a "cynical attempt to manipulate the jury".
DNA test results have since been ordered to determine who the body parts belonged to, although it is understood one of her children had lost part of her hand after suffering renal problems and developing gangrene.
Social Services and the Child Protection Agency were also contacted following the incident in court.
Put her kids into care, pack her of to prison and then deport her and her daughter on release.

You think that's bad ?

A former headmaster who hoarded 8,000 child porn pics walked free from court yesterday after a judge accepted that medication for Parkinson’s Disease had turned him into a paedophile.
Phillip Carmichael, 58, admitted downloading the videos and images — with one in the most serious “Level Five” category — but got an absolute discharge as lawyers said the drugs had boosted his sex drive.
Judge Mary-Jane Mowat even rejected a prosecution appeal for him to be put under supervision after hearing about his “impeccable record”.
One image of a nine-year-old girl was downloaded BEFORE the retired primary school head began taking medication for Parkinson’s and Graves’ Diseases.
Carmichael said he did not know why it was there and Judge Mowat agreed to disregard it.
Most pictures were in least-serious Level One category but four videos were Level Four, Oxford Crown Court heard.
Married Carmichael, of Wantage, even emailed one website to complain about the quality of pics.
The court heard “hypersexuality,” and compulsive gambling and shopping were side effects of the drugs.
Carmichael, who retired through ill health in 1999, stopped taking the medication after his arrest.
He admitted seven counts of making indecent images and four counts of possession.

Hang on a moment, hypersexuality just means your sex drive kicks into high gear. As far as I can remember it doesnt change what you find stimulating.
For the judge to kick this out I have to wonder if he has a secret... rubschin:

Well he has chosen a career that involves him in wearing stockings, buckles on his shoes, a wig and a dress. whistle:

Not necessarily,
There are also a number of specific behaviors which are common to those who struggle with this addiction. These behaviors include: compulsive masturbation, compulsive sex with prostitutes, anonymous sex with multiple partners (one night stands), multiple affairs outside a committed relationship, frequent patronizing of sexually-oriented establishments, habitual exhibitionism, habitual voyeurism, inappropriate sexual touching, sexual abuse of children, and rape.6 In addition to these, fantasy sex, prostitution, pedophilia, masochism, fetishes, sex with animals and cross-dressing may also be behaviors of the sexual addict
The judge is a she BTW.

Indeed… All Nigerians should be tagged and placed under suspicion as a matter of course – or simply not allowed into the country in the first place… noooo:
They have a set of ‘values’ which are so far removed from our own they simply cannot legally co-exist among us… cussing:
