I'm not sure BM, there haven't been any mention of major incidents in the news. Mond you that could just be to stop panic in the populace when they realise that Captain Calamity is off on one again. whistle:
-
Where is Nick? rubschin:
-
Strangely silent ~ can one catch anything nasty from undercooked lamb, except a right hook from Mrs Nick that is.

You were the one that vanished for 24 hours without a word. We did ask where you were but answer came there none ~ I suspect we would have got the same response had we asked how the lamb turned out.
PS I still don't like lamb sick2: Nasty, icky, fatty tasting stuff. sick2: sick2: sick2:
-
We have been transporting our visitors hither and thither. Last night I made them a pie cloud9:
-
Scrapie? whistle:
-
Cow and fungus
-
I have just put my order in for half a lamb butchered etc for my freezer. cloud9:
-
You should have asked ~ we are currently surrounded by the bloody things, it should be no trouble to pop one into the boot one evening. Mind I doubt that the Post Office would be impressed if I stuck a stamp on its arse and sent it to you whistle:
-
You can get em from all the farm shops hereabouts for about £20
-
TBH they can't give them away fast enough. There seems to be a glut.
-
I wonder how much Wenchy is having to pay darn sarf noooo:
-
S'coming from op north. Think I'm paying £40 for half a lamb. Legs, shoulders, loin, chops, mince etc
-
OTT noooo:
Are they actually posting it to you?
What if you have to collect it from the sorting office and can't get there for a few days? sick2:
-
It is Brother Wench's girlfriend's parents farm. She will drive it to my house in a chilled thingy.
£40 is still cheaper than the supermarket.
-
Won't she get cold?
-
Much depends on the type of lamb and the weight (which can vary from about 7 to 10 kilos) ~ Organic will cost up to 100% more. Lamb from the "High Fells" is also a premium priced product as is that from the Welsh Salt Marshes. Certainly it can be found cheaper if you can collect from the farm shop and cheaper still if you can find a small abbatoir that will sell to you. That applies to most things. We are currently paying 75pence a pack for Welsh butter, buying it direct from a local creamery. In farm shops around here the same product is on sale at anything from £1 to £1.35 a pack. Supermarket prices are from £1.35 to £1.58.
-
Or you could just get one straight from the field (take a torch) and get Berek Jr to club it for you.
-
Don't think it doesn't happen in these parts whistle:
But as I have said I am not personally fond of lamb as a meat. That said we did have a leg of lamb on Sunday night. Last night we ate fresh caught trout and tonight it's curried lamb. Had I been a little quicker on the accelerator it would have been pheasant for tomorrow but I can wait for the results of today's shoot to arrive whistle:
