I'm trying to drum up some more work which naturally involves lots of emails and stuff.

Time after time I'm repeating myself because t'other party hadn't bothered to read what I said in the first place  Banghead Banghead

They're asking questions that I've answered before they thought of it, telling me things that don't apply - which I outlined in the first place. What is it? Do they just read the first 2 lines and not bother with the rest?

A good sales letter must catch them in the first two sentences or they lose all interest.
Phone calls are better ~ but only seek an appointment to discuss. Save your sales pitch until you get in front of them.

Indeed. For our marketing bumph the first two lines contain the main message. The rest after that is pretty much filler. I like to include a link to a further information page on the net and then I can track how much interest I am getting and how many people discard either without reading or after reading the first two lines.

All sound and true. The ones recently have taken the bait, we're talking or emailing - it all sounds interesting on both sides, and yet... see above  ::)

I can only summise they have too much on their plate or they're operating above their level of competence, and this at board level  scared2:  Makes me wonder whether I want to deal with people like that.

Tho' I personally always worked on the Cess Pool Principle ~ ie the biggest lumps are always the ones that seem to float to the top.
