Why the French are pushing so hard for a "European" Army to replace Nato. No doubt as usual they will want to be in charge of it but this report in the Daily Telegraph perhaps tells us all we need to know about the why of it.

Although ultimately a success, the rescue operation nearly foundered at an early stage, when two of the frigates carrying troops suffered engine failure, and a launch laden with special forces' equipment sunk under its weight.
I cant help but think there is something very British about that sort of farce. Not least because they still succeeded. rubschin:
