Wednesday sees the annual village Ladies (sic) Parade. Something to do with the Napoleonic Wars apparently, but it involves bagpipes ( evil:), marching "ladies" and girls and a fun fair. Girls get the day off school and the pubs, I gather, have their best takings of hte year (Xmas Eve and New Year's Eve included eeek:). (A Californian friend visitng once was convinced it was a Lesbian Pride March, but we convinced her otherwise)
SO The Boy announces that if he could just get hold of a wig and a dress he could join in and get the day off school!

I looked it up:
Neston's Historic Ladies' Walk (http://www.aboutmyarea.co.uk/site/content.asp?area=484&m=2603&type=10335&story=89052)
It's good to see traditions being kept up.

And I doubt that The Boy would be the first to pull that trick. All credit to him.

This thread is misleading.
All our fair members were expecting the annual clean-up and a new roll of Charmin.

happy001 More fool them after the expense of the Wedding.
