Poor you...
I tried to get from Windsor to Staines by car on Monday.
The Runnymead road was closed all day because of a fallen tree and after operforming a 'U' turn along with hundreds of other cars (there was no sign at the start of the road) discovered that the alternate route was also blocked by a tree (another 'U' turn.
Why does it take so long to fix things like this these days? cussing:

Hear about troubles on the news this morning. Check website that tells me that there a half-hourly service to Seven Sisters where I can get the tube via Kings Cross to Liverpool Street. Not too bad (!)
Get to station to get 7:14 ~ not running as now hourly service. Next train due 7:42. Wait and watch four trains pass through the station. Train arrives 7:50 standing room only. Get to just outside Seven Sisters where we stop for 10 minutes before getting into the station. Mass exodus to tube. Not allowed on the platform for another ten minutes because of overcrowding. Finally get to tube platform cannot get on first train but get a seat on next one. Tube to Kings Cross more crowds have to get second tube again. Get to Liverpool Street at 9:10 instead of usual time of 7:47
I notice they expect to reopen at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
Fat chance. cussing:
