I think it's a bit more than an image problem, Herr Chancellor confused:
I saw the girl who escaped capture previously being interviewed on Newsnight last night; amazingly calm and articulate and pointing at deep-rooted beliefs stemming from a nasty Nazi past.

On a ski trip many years ago, I went with a guide (English) to return something to a house in the village. I didn't go in but the guide came out after a few minutes... They had a portrait of Adolf in the hallway eeek:

And no secretary... unless she was back in the hotel... or in the bierkellar
