Title: The Old Bailey online
Post by: Pastis on April 28, 2008, 03:17:18 PM
This could be entertaining  lol:  www.oldbaileyonline.org.uk

I've just discovered that a possible relative of mine was indicted for stealing 26 yards of linen valued at just over 20 quid  eeek:
And that was in 1827 !

The site's running painfully slow at the moment but I can see a few skeletons might be falling from the cupboard in the coming weeks  ;)

They have only added to the existing site that I and others interested in family history have been using for a couple of years ~ leave it a week or two and it'll settle down. These sites get like this everytime either a newspaper mentions them in the breathless prose of a "scoop" or when the TV put out another "Who do you think you are" series. Piises off us long term family historians I can tell you. Copies of Certificates that I used to be able to get from the National Archives in three days can now take up to a month........ sorry pet gripe! evil:
