The tubes are going on strike again next week.
-
I'm an 'overground' commuter fortunately.
The Tube is a good service but it's so overcrowded all the time. Where do all these people come from?

Poland?
-
Pakistan mainly I believe
-
Certainly very little English is heard.
-
I hate the tube with a passion. It is the main reason why working in the city has never really been an option for me. That and a fear of escalators. redface:
-
All understandable ~ that's why I used to drive in ~ but then I did qualify for a key to the management car park.
-
I don't drive either. redface:

I'm sorry but, GOOD GRIEF WOMAN!
-
I used to drive from maidenhead to hyde Park corner every day rather than catch the train... noooo:

S'not funny! Those long ones at the tube are especially horrid. Going up is okish but going down them scared2: I have to hide behind Mr Wench with my head stuck in his back. redface:

When I was little I got my shoe lace stuck in the bit at the bottom where it disapears to go round again. I thought I was going to get sucked in and gut into slivers. scared2:

I was only thinking this morning as I left Liverpool Street (via the stairs) that short escalators should be switched off.
It would save energy and maybe reduce obesity a little.

Where you? eeek:

Well obviously not! ::) I did freak out though and pressed the panic button. redface:

Oh...
And sixteen old wimmin were pitched forward and broke a variety of limbs.

The old lady behind my Mum did stumble apparently. redface:

Have you noticed that odd sensation you get when you walk onto an escalator which isn't working. rubschin:

Yes! ;D
-
Yes. The one when you think "Funny, I know I'm not drunk so why do I feel as if my legs have turned to jelly?"
-
But why?
-
I think because your brain expects that the stopped escalator will be moving. The brain works in a funny way at times and sometimes denys the evidence of your eyes.
-
Probably wouldn't happen to Wenchy then. ;)
-
cussing:
-
Not sure if she would be able to see her feet
What with all the shopping she'd be carrying (he added quickly).
-
I think you've had getting any more scraps from Wenchy now hound. Looks like you are stuck with Baldymorts fare point:

Don't care ~ A nice Granny is going to email me some jelly. razz:
-
But why?
It's summat to do with the curved "riser", normal stairs/steps have vertical risers, escalators don't (apparently)
One thing I put it down to is the patterning of the metal which give me a slight dizzy feeling, a bit like when you iron a close-striped shirt.
-
A bit like epilepsy ten. I can buy that idea.
