The government unveiled its new initiative to tackle hospital superbugs today.
The health secretary, Alan Johnson, said hospital trusts across England will be able to recruit specialist staff in an attempt to drive down incidences of potentially lethal infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile.

Well Alan, my ex colleague from Post Office Union days, you were a prat then and you are still one. Specialist staff? How about getting the existing staff to clean things? We used to call them Nurses. Sit in any hospital and watch them now. They do not make beds, they will not feed patients (in fact they starve some oldies to death), they won't even wash the hands. They travel to and from work, often via the school run, walking the dog and doing the Sainsbury shopping in their uniforms. I saw one last week, in uniform, washing her car at the local Jet Wash. Followed her into the shop where she bought sarnies and a bottle of water as "I'm just going on night shift and the food there is awful". So all the spray and muck from the Jet Wash is all over her and she is going to work in a ward for the night??? eeek:
That's the attitude you need to sort out Alan ~ not create yet another layer of highly paid staff to "manage" a situation that would be solved by basic hygiene.

Indeed…
Better than all that though, the money is not ring fenced for this hygiene initiative so trusts that are in the red will just use it to balance the books…
But hold on! Surely Brown’s ‘deep cleaning initiative’ will eradicate these superbugs anyway? Surprise, surprise the deep cleaning fiasco has just turned out to be another labour headline grabbing waste of time and money.
What utter, utter bastards they are. Angry9:

This is pointless. People carry those bugs around with them. We all do. You would have to steam clean everyone coming into a hospital to eradicate them. Inside and out. Starting with Alan Johnson! eveilgrin:

Can there ever have been a government that tried to meddle so much in the daily lives of everybody in the country?
It wouldn’t be so bad if they’d got just one or two things right but they’ve fucked everything up so far and just keep going…
Their next target is to outlaw prostitution of all things – like that’ll work and was it in their manifesto? No.
Why can’t they just concentrate on sorting the basic things that make the country viable – education, transport and health – the very things that clearly don’t work for the majority before they try to meddle in yet more things that they are clearly unqualified to touch? Banghead
