The famous Wench cold has struck. Head pounding, throat raw, nose stuffed ..... I feel awful sad24: ~ how did she send it through cyber space do you suppose .... or did I catch it off the child I've been nursing all week rubschin:
Actually the whole kennel is complaining of symptoms this morning so p'raps we'll be placed in quarantine or summat.

Oh, dear. More illness in the pub. Perhaps we should employ a pub nurse?

Not to mention Moral Rectitude ~ if only we could all be like you. surrender:

I too am well, apart from the mass anal spraying caused by something dodgy in "ll Ponte" (italian restaurant to the Sutton masses) last night. Wenchy, avoid.

No, it's The Vomit!

No, Snoopy, it's not a Wench cold, it's Kennel Cough! I'm surprised at you not realising that before now!
Call the vet soonest, take plenty of fluids and as many bonios as you can stomach. Right as ninepence in no time!

Could be distemper scared2: or something Bernard Matthews related

rubschin: There is an element of The Vomit involved now.

Snoopy minimus has "returned" a lot of phlegm/snot that he has swallowed sick2:
I don't, at this stage believe this to be the real deal in "The Vomit" terms but it was pretty nasty none the less. He is much perkier now and eating like a horse whilst the rest of us droop about sniffing.

Perhaps if you also ate some hay and oats you would feel better?

It might not be The Vomit Snoops. If you don't keep blowing your nose then the phlegm settles in your chest and you end up throwing it up. But it isn't proper vomit.
My apologies for infecting you all. redface:

I feel better this evening. Miss Snoopy is perking up as is Snoopy Minor. Minimus says he feels fine and all three wish to go to school tomorrow ~ Looks like I shall have a peaceful day as Mrs S is working too.

Do I take it O-level Biology is not on your CV?
I assure you the lung-bone is not connected to the stomach-bone.
-
Ahem. If one snifs then the snot enters the throat which then enters the stomach. Hence the throwing up of snot.
For those of a delicate disposition read no further.
If you do a real big snif then you end up with snot in your mouth. Which you then swallow, which ends up in your stomach. Coughing can then cause you to throw up.

It was the "settles in the chest" bit I was questioning in that context.
"Chest" would imply respiratory tract/lungs, from which area vomiting is difficult.
The stomach, where vomit comes from, resides some way south of the "chest".
The basic concept of swallow snot=throw up, is not in question.

Once again the superior verbal firepower of the male species has been proven ;D

Personally I choose to view it as superior common sense to enter a battle with the unarmed.

Never the less BW is right in that a little boy of 7 will always sniff and swallow. My imprecations that when he coughs he should spit go against everything he is taught by his mother and the school ... ie Spitting is rude, nasty and naughty. That, when coughing up phlegm, one should dispose of the resultant mouthful discretely into a tissue or down the WC rather than swallow it is not an option that he will consider. None of this is helped because the 14YO Hormone Heap stands there with a look of distaste on her face muttering "Gross!" the whole time

Boys of 30 don't understand it either. Banghead
