Title: Top Gear thread
Post by: GROWLER on October 28, 2007, 09:35:13 PM
Another top programme tonight. happy088

I nearly shat myself with laughter when Clarkson drove that Peel car behind the news room. happy001
Simple but classic comedy.

I think you're right in your assumption. Isn't it fast disappearing backwards down that 1 in 2 hill start test facility at MIRA? lol:

Trust you to bring felching into it! Still, I suppose being in the farming line, you'd know all about doing things with wildlife.

If you look, you'll see that hamster in my post was capitalised - I was, of course, referring to the diminutive dimwit sidekick of Clarkson and May, who, you may recall, had an interesting experience with a large jet whilst in search of some speed record or other. OK?

Doesn't count, officially, but as far as us lot are concerned, yes, he is THE man who has travelled faster at ground level than anyone else, ever.....in GB.

Did you see them on that tv awards programme last night?
Clarkson was actually lost for werds for once when he scooped that award.
Richly deserved too. Best programme on tv now imo.

Spent much of last evening watching the telly ~ very unusual for me but I was pleased to have caught, on UK TV Gold, a 2002/3 (?) recording of Victoria Wood "Live at The Albert Hall" . Two hours (less breaks) of pure comedy. The woman is a genius.

ITV have recently confirmed that they have commissioned a fourth series, and when interviewed on This Morning, Martin Clunes stated very definitely that he is not taking a year off.

Well, I had a soft spot for the old SD1 Rovers - had a couple in my time - a diesel and a 2.6 Auto.

And no, the doors never fell off - I have a suspicion that was 'engineered' for entertainment value!

And as for filling the buggers up with water! What was the point in that for God's sake? It's not something I'd ever consider doing in the real world so the information as to which lasts longest is of little real importance is it?

Indeed MG. It must have been a pretty sick Sprint not to lap faster than a Datsun 120Y - my old one, in standard trim, was lapping Goodwood as fast as a works MG Maestro in 1991. And some may scoff at those, but they were pretty damned quick and we bot would happily see off Escort RS Turbos and the GTIs of the day.

And a Sprint has four ashtrays :-)
