Title: games of our youth
Post by: Berek on October 23, 2007, 05:09:37 PM
I was explaining to little Berek about British Bulldog earlier and it got me thiking about other past-times we had, like throwing dried up cow shit at each other and playing games like Red Lights and blocky.

remember how we decided who was "on"

everyone put a battered old trainer in a circle and:

Ip Dip Bird Shit
Who Fell in it
My Mother said it was..
You !

those were the days.. tonight I might relive my youth and nick a turnip from the allotment when i'm walking larl dog

Ah… happy days…

We used to walk to school and back (twice a day) then run ‘round playing ‘he’ and stuff till we were completely knackered. No wonder the kids of today are fat bastards – they get no exercise at all…

We used to do something along the lines of…

I clean my shoes
With cherry blossom shoe polish
You are it.

The even number of words meant that you could work out were to start and leave yourself in at the end.

I'm back, with a turnip, that I will hollow out and make a lantern for Halloween, then eat the raw snagger from inside.

I may even show larl lad the delights of "Split the Kipper " with my penknife, first to bleed wins

Technical foul:

Quote
The game continues with each player taking turns to throw whilst all the time trying to remain standing, their legs getting further and further apart. If a player falls over or gives up, he loses.

Blood loss = thrower loses  At least that's how I remember it.

And what's with bleedin' Ron Jeremy  noooo:

We played it the opposite way, you moved your legs in until your feet were almost touching and you got stabbed, it was the hard kids way to play, not like southern softies
