Title: Bar Snacks
Post by: Nick on May 10, 2007, 11:03:26 AM
I had an interesting offer in the food vicinity the other night, but fortunately had already booked myself in somewhere else with a colleague. The menu looked more like an advert for a David Attenborough series. Where did I put it?

Oh yes here:

http://www.orles.barn.clara.net/ (http://www.orles.barn.clara.net/)

I was thrilled to have passed up on the:

Backstrap of African Crocodile (with a Kiwi Fruit and Pear Compote)              ?15.95

had my doubts about:

Shark (with a Plum and Soya Sauce)

And had some other doubts about the possible contents of:

A Trio of African Game Meats

Still, I gather wild cats feast on such fare regularly.

Any suggestions for the kind of snacks we should have in here?

I think "crab sticks" are pieces of polystyrene dyed pink and then gently sprayed with aerosolised essence du crab

Mercifully I have not set eyes on one in years. Something else to look forward to when I am next in Barrow. sick2:

CHap in the village (doctor) was trying to give up smoking. Every time he wanted a fag he had a pickled egg instead. Had to carry a big jar of pickled eggs with him everywhere he went. Since he had been a 20 a day man this was really quite unpleasant sick2:. He gave up pickled eggs and went back to SIlk Cut.

remember those pictures of women covered with bags of peanuts ? Our barman always left the bag covering her clout until last. I once ate 24 packs and found out she had knickers on
