Out of all the government departments that should have mandatory numeracy testing during the recruitment process it's the bloody treasury Banghead
According to minutes from an internal governance board meeting, the test created a "hurdle" for ethnic minority candidates and removing it would lead to more diverse candidates at the assessment centre.
It said the requirement of two tests created an additional "hurdle" for candidates to jump over and another opportunity for applicants to be "sifted out".
If they can't manage basic numeracy then they damn well should be sifted out, hiring people capable of doing the job is not some esoteric concept it's basic common sense. Banghead
