So, our glorious energy minister has, in his infinite wisdom, decided that we are going to start construction of a commercial Tokamak reactor in Nottinghamshire in 2030. Brilliant I hear you say, unlimited clean energy, except there is one teeny tiny problem with this plan. Nobody has managed to create a safe viable fusion reactor, while there have been successful small scale tests that last less than half an hour (Currently the WEST tokamak in France holds the record for the longest successful nuclear fusion reactor test, sustaining a hydrogen plasma for 1,337 seconds at a temperature of 50 million degrees Celsius last year) the most optimistic opinion is that the technology won't be usable at scale until the mid to late 2030's Banghead

You can imagine spending trillions on this and just as it ios about to spark up the wind drops and there is no power to start it... noooo:
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic... I'm so happy not to be a UK taxpayer any more.
