Ages ago (years possibly) I bought one of those kitchen Butane torches from Amazon... I've used it for browning Parmesan Cheese on Asparagus...
Today I get a recall notice from Amazon, apparently the Canadian Government has determined there is a fire hazard with the device! eeek:
I can send it back for a full refund or replacement product - crikey, I've been lucky! scared2:
But when you click on the Canadian recall notice you get....
Product: Sondiko Butane Torch Lighter
Issue: Consumer products - Fire hazard
What to do: Immediately stop using the recalled product and return it for a refund or replacement.
Issue
The lighter does not have a child resistant mechanism which can pose as a risk of serious burn injuries or death to children.
As of April 4, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents and no reports of injury.
FFS! What has that cost everybody involved for no actual evidence of rincidents or injury? noooo:
They'll be recalling boxes of matches next... cussing:
I'm keeping mine... ;)

Yes, there is that joke isn't there about how cars used to come with a tool set and instructions on setting the plug gap, etc. Now they tell you not to drink the battery acid... noooo:

Every time I go into my Amazon orders it nags me that "An item that you bought has been recalled
To ensure your safety, go to Your Recalls and Product Safety Alerts and see recall information."
And when you go to that it takes you to the Anker battery site which says our one not affected.
But can I get rid of the nagging message? noooo:
