And this is shortly after an award winning NYT reporter posted on X that Biden was heard saying it's time to put Trump in the bullseye in a call to democrat donors.

Given just how polarized the country is I'm dreading what may come next.

Are you bloody serious? The country is more polarized than it has ever been, while Trump hasn't helped himself the Democrats and supporting media companies such as CNN and MSNBC have gone out of their way to portray him as the second coming of Hitler since he first walked into the oval office. And you think that the half of the country (if not more based on recent poll results) that supports Trump would just shrug their shoulders, say "Well it was good while it lasted" and go home peacefully if the attempt has been successful?

If he wins there will be a bloodbath anyway. If he loses there will also be a bloodbath.

There is a massive difference between riots and a civil war. And before you say I'm being overly dramatic take a look at world history, civil wars have started from far less fertile ground.

No Nick, it's appalling that one attendee is dead, two are critically ill and that some (now also dead) 20 year old idiot was able to get a rifle and would try to use it to kill to get his political way.

I don’t celebrate the collateral damage and I am sure (not) that Trumpy will pay funeral and hospital costs. The shooter would have known it was a one way ticket.
Had he succeeded I would have been delighted to see the world rid of this monstrous man.
