Title: Bank of Dad Lunacy
Post by: Nick on July 29, 2020, 06:12:56 PM
Saw the Boy for the first time since December cloud9: cloud9:

He was on good form and is coming to visit soon (once his car is repaired after he crashed it  ::) )

Had lunch on the roof terrace of a terrific place on the Wirral (recommended)

https://sheldrakesrestaurant.co.uk/ (https://sheldrakesrestaurant.co.uk/)

Today's set lunch menu was restricted a bit. Boy went for the Sirloin Steak option (£25 supplement  Shocked: )

We then went to get his sodding phone sorted. It needs a new battery. Simples :thumbsup:

He takes the phone in to the shop and returns to the car. It will take 10 minutes and costs £25. Fine.  "I have forgotten my wallet, Dad and they want cash."
We drive to the cashpoint. I have a fiver, so I withdraw £20.

I give him all my cash and he returns to the shop.

He returns: "He has broken it."

 eeek:

Seems the phone repair guy broke the screen  noooo:

"But he can fix the screen at a discounted price!"

Me: He BROKE it, he can pay! Go and tell him!

He comes back: He says this happens with this model and he wants £15 to fix the screen for a discount.

I am knackered. We drive to the cashpoint again. cussing: cussing:

He is coming to visit soon   That will be pricey noooo:

Last time I looked the word, 'no' came before the word 'yes' in the dictionary.  Maybe you should be using it Nick

It is a parent thing  noooo:  Why do they always "forget" their wallet/purse?  rubschin:

He dropped a bombshell over lunch. Given the limited acting opprtunities during lockdown he has applied to join the police  eeek:

Yep

Obviously I get this all third hand but what gets me is the scheming that seems to take place.  That forgotten wallet, in my brother's case him being rung up 'can you book my car in your local garage for a service' which meant he had to take it in, pay the bill and deliver it back to his offspring after of course the carefully not mentioned illegal tyres had been replaced  noooo:

I currently have a loan repayment scheme in operation with The Brat.

I of course have no confidence this will be fully honoured . Though she has kept up her repayments so far ( 5 months in ).

As for The Boy joining the police  eeek:

He is aware they do early shifts as well I hope  lol:

I read of these money woes and all the troubles with the offspring and I find it difficult to understand. Naturally I supported the sprogs as they grew and helped fund their further education and career but they were never demanding (and were careful with their possessions)

Where did I go wrong? noooo:

You think that BM was around when they were building the pyramids? Don't be daft, going from all the tales of his DIY misadventures if he'd been involved in putting them up there wouldn't be any left standing today...  whistle:
