Boris has said he doesn't want a General Election  (maybe he's seen the rumours about a poll today poll that says he'd lose 6 seats)

So get your postal vote application in now then

Boris has drawn a line in the sand. All the naysayers will force him to call an election.

Looks like his whips told him he's going to lose the vote and his legal people that he'd lose that legal case in Edinburgh unless he swore that affidavit that risked him spending a long time in jail

whatever I think of Brexit, the country deserves something better as PM than that self serving shit Boris, or that even worse Corbyn or that half baked probably very nice but well out of her depth Swinson or that care not a jot for England Blackford or gobby Green or  . . . . or  . . .
We're sodding doomed aren't we?

All because that idiot Cameron held a plebiscite asking the plebs what they wanted to do and they foolishly chose what the political elite didn't want.

Almost as stupid as it would be to hold a referendum on capital punishment and expect the ignorant masses to vote against it.

Don't ask them, tell them. That's what democracy is all about.

So it's nothing to do with Boris making promises he couldn't honour?

Do you really need the difference between leaving the Single Market and no deal Brexit explained to you?

Do you really need the difference between leaving the Single Market and no deal Brexit explained to you?

No I understand completely...

'No Deal' is a post Referendum fabrication by Remoaners to make leaving the EU look scary.

While 'Leaving the single market' is what Remainers and Leavers said would happen if we voted Leave.

Although while Remoaners keep on about it, it isn't even 'no deal' any more - there are deals in place already to facilitate goods transfer, let aeroplanes fly, etc.

Corbyn you fucking coward!! You know fine well that you screwed over Labour heartland constituencies that voted to leave by jumping on the remain bandwagon after dithering along in the hopes you could scam your way into No. 10 despite promising to respect the result of the referendum, and now you can see that the consequences will at least decimate the number of Labour MP's come the next election. THAT is the only reason you keep blocking attempts to hold one.

You sit there all high and mighty claiming that Boris can't be trusted and maybe he can, maybe he can't but let's drop the holier than thou bullshit Jeremy........YOU CERTAINLY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED!!!

Of course he can't be trusted.  He's a dyed in the wool leaver who pretended to be a ramainer so he could sabotage their campaign then rapidly became a leaver again and now has become a whateverer (will give him a chance at number 10)

It takes a once in a lifetime git to make Boris look not such a shit but Corbyn does it

PS Actual and intending Labour voters are overwhelmingly Remainers/soft Brexiters much to Corbyn's annoyance https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/nkb7moq5w9/TheTimes_191025_VI_Trackers_w.pdf  see page 5

Absolutely fucking disgusting, I'll only allow you to have an election if you agree to stack the deck in my favour because it's the only way I have a snowball in Hell's chance of not obliterating Labour. How can you justify demanding that EU nationals get to vote in the general election of a country that has already voted to leave said establishment. And as for lowering the voting age to 16? What life experience are they expected to have that will help them make informed choices? Posting in social media echo chambers doesn't make for an educated basis for knowing what the consequences of their vote will entail. At least by 18 you have had the chance to see a little of the world, in my case I'd made multiple trips to Romania working as a volunteer in the orphanages there following the fall of Caucescu which allowed me to see the true cost of a socialist/communist regime.

Dear Labour/Momentum if you are going to have an activist stand just inside the entrance to the polling station asking people who they are going to vote for can you at least make sure that next time they can put up a decent argument to any anti-labour arguments they will encounter (yes I know that there are a lot of them but even just being able to have counter arguments against the core ones would be a start). It felt so much like shooting a paralysed fish in a barrel I actually felt sorry for them...  noooo:

Sun still rose this morning, probably will again tomorrow.  Best bits for me about this election

- at least we avoided the horror of Corbyn
- DUP suffered serious reverses

err that's it.   Whatever the make up of the house we are still a very polarised country that could easily become a broken one.  So I hope Boris can and does honour his many promises, he's certainly got no excuses now

Out of curiosity (and the suspicion that the replies would be good for a laugh) I've been keeping half an eye on Corbyn's, Abbot's etc twitter feeds post election. Now I'd like to think that this was just a mahoosive coincidence but Jezza has managed to tweet the English translation of one of the more infamous IRA slogans that used to be daubed on walls around Ireland. Given his ties to members in the past (attending rallies, paying the bail of one and getting a convicted bomb maker to the top of the council house list as well as a job to name but a few examples) I find it hard to believe that he wasn't aware of how bad an idea it would be to tweet 'Our day will come' and found a better alternative instead.  noooo:

I detest Corbyn but even I won't blame him for that.  That's been a universally used phrase long before the Troubles

The DM would probably have slagged him off for using the word 'one' saying it was a reference to Hitler's slogans

True but you would think that he'd be aware enough to realise that he is once again declaring open season on himself. He may be the outgoing opposition leader but at the moment he's still in charge of Labour, why give even more ammunition to hit him with. Believe it or not this didn't come from the Mail but from replies to the tweet in question from members of the public. Looking back at previous leaders I'm starting to wonder if there is some arcane ritual when you get put in charge of the Labour party that removes your sense of putting your foot in your mouth.

Frankly he should just slink away and see if there's vacancies to be Santa Claus at the Pound Shop

Isn't that the same approach that ended up with us saddled with Comrade Jeremy as leader?  noooo:

It is the same approach that made them un-electable...  ;)

This is interesting imho https://lordashcroftpolls.com/2019/12/how-britain-voted-and-why-my-2019-general-election-post-vote-poll/

The first proper analysis of why people voted as they did.  Overall Brexit outcome was seen as less important than the motives of the party voted for and the ability to run the economy.  But for Tory voters Brexit was the top issue
