Title: (serious poll) The Nov 13th draft EU/UK Deal
Post by: Steve on November 15, 2018, 12:05:37 PM
Do we do serious polls here?  We could have a go on this most divisive topic

I've tried to make the vote options span all the main options from 'Hard Brexit' through to 'Full Remain'

You were expecting anything different? May has done such a piss poor job of managing the negotiations that I wouldn't be surprised if it was done deliberately

The media sense blood, judging by the camera crews at Westminster today. How long do we give her? And who/what next? Gove or an election? Or both?

Well if he's trying to win an Oscar for looking like a sneering, toffee nosed 'I'll be alright Jack' snob then yes

He's clever enough to putting all that big money into EU-27 funds but dumb enough to think we won't see the hypocrisy when he moans about British Airways planning to bail out and take their HQ out of the UK

Apparently back stabber Gove is soon to speak  Popcorn:

Have to say after the day she has had she was impressively calm and controlled during that press conference

Seems the polls say no one likes the deal and most now want No Brexit with a majority wanting a further referendum

Unfortunately I know from experience just how easy it would be to manipulate poll results to get the desired figures. I'm not saying that you are wrong, but it is something to keep in mind.

Well we could have a referendum to see if we should have a referendum  ;)

interesting to see you reject the 2016 referendum 52:48 result as a basis for saying most are in favour of leaving

Not my intent

But your not calling 52% most does rather lead to that assumption that you would not consider the 2016 vote by 52% to represent most

"most" implies nearly all not just a bit more than half, In the 2016 referendum the majority of people voted to leave, not most people. In our system that's enough.

yes the standard is 50% + 1

which is what 'most' means.  Honest

Well it's a clear polarised position with no one liking the deal and the centre of gravity very much on the hard Brexit if they won't give more side.

No surprise really but thought it'd be worth finding out the VP position seeing as I was running same poll elsewhere and that is similarly polarised but more evenly

Only in the tightest of definitions. in common use it means nearly all, the lion's share or the preponderance.

There is no 'hard Brexit'... ::)

We voted for leave or stay, in or out....

So a Norway position is OK then
