Title: Perrin, Stonehouse and now another, suspicously.
Post by: Nick on March 06, 2018, 07:25:09 PM
I was at school with a guy called Mark Purdy. He was always a fantasist. We shared a flat in London for a couple of years and he ended up fleeing the country with the plod on his tail and spent years reinventing himself.

Just got a call from a mate saying that he had taken his own life off a beach near Bridport, He had left his clothes on the beach and vanished. I gather it is near the same beach where Reggie Perrin did the same thing  rubschin:

I have my doubts................

Without being morbid but have they even found a body ..surely you can't have a memorial service until you know they are deaded  rubschin:

All sounds very sad [/serious]

Still everyone will be on tenterhooks just in case the door springs open and he appears dressed like Jeremy Beadle shouting "Surprise!"

Of course there's the moral quandary of would you want that to happen or he really be dead?

No clever answers here (no change then)

Don't see how they can get closure by  getting a few people together, saying a few words and feeding the pigeons .

Closure will either only be the finding of the body ...dead or alive ( and living with his mistress in Panama) - or until 6 or 7 years down the line when the legal beagles formally pronounce him as no longer in existence.

Details of tomorrow's memorial service" are now emerging.

We start with meeting and greeting the non-mourners and the not widow, then we scatter flower petals into a former gravel pit  ::)  There is then an account of his life in the format of Desert Island Discs  sick2:  with "memory sharing".

No one I have spoken to has a good word to say for him, and that includes me.  noooo:

His "widow" (who is very nice and has the most enormous knockers  eeek: ) wants me to speak at the next "memorial service" in Brighton in two weeks. I said no.

I have to say, his 12 year old daughter was brilliant throughout  sad24:
