Title: Sleep Wars
Post by: Miss Demeanour on June 21, 2017, 06:43:16 AM
The battle over the perfect sleeping conditions is raging on at the moment but I fear I am losing.

Now it is a tad warm at night but there is feck all breeze evident. However the man insists that the windows should be flung as wide open as possible.  Now in his tiny weeny head this means it will be cooler. The reality is though that you can hear every car go past, every muppets conversation  that happen to be walking in the vicinity and the soothing drones of the pigeons annoying the  bejesus out of you.

My preference would be for the windows to be shut and the fan on. At least the noise of the fan is constant and you can then sleep with that level of disturbance.

Second issue is of light . Now his nibs likes some light coming into the room ( borrowed from Street lights, the stadium lighting offered by the automatic security lights from across the road and of course the natural lighting the moon and stars provide voluntarily ...somewhere apparently!!!

I like complete darkness.  Total and utter lack of light!!

Needless to say I am losing.

I am also the light sleeper whilst he can sleep through anything.

So why the feck does get insist on these things invite doesn't matter one jot on the quality of his sleep.  grrrr

noooo:  well for us it would be

Bloody fan noise annoys me and Mrs K detests it.  Also like having a reference small light on so you can get your bearings when you wake up.  Windows open mean we get to hear the dawn chorus

Oh gawd ..that all sounds familar.

As for the dawn chorus .. little cheep cheeps would be fine but not the incessant cooing of the arrogant peckers !!!

I guess it helps us living in the country.  We've got owls back now and jeez can they screech when hunting mice.  Two doors away a guy just got a load of chickens with a dawn crowing cock.  There was much tut tutting about how irritating it would be but tis but nothing compared to bleeding pigeons that as you say will never shut the truck up.

But I could sleep through a nuclear war.  Must be a Man U fan thing

I am also the light sleeper whilst he can sleep through anything.

So why the feck does get insist on these things invite doesn't matter one jot on the quality of his sleep.  grrrr

Have you tried waiting till he is asleep then shutting the window and putting the fan on  rubschin:
