Reading through some stuff yesterday in preparation for hols.
This made me laugh aloud ...
" even more common than bears are mountain lions. Because of their solitary nature it is unlikely you will see one . Still there are a few things to remember , if you come across a kill, probably a large partly eaten deer then leave immediately. And if you see a mountain lion and it sees you , identify yourself as human , making your body appear as big as possible , just as with a bear. And remember never run. As with any cat , large or small, running triggers the hunting instincts. If a mountain lion attacks , fight back, cats don't like to get hurt .

I wander if that advice has ever worked lol:

It's really easy. You just shout "Run!" and then trip up the member of your group you like least. Job done.
Sounds like you're going to the land of mahoosive breakfasts and even bigger dinners

That;s fine ..it distracts me from further advice
" when walking in the area keep your eyes on the ground and an ear out for the telltale rattle sound of the rattlesnake. Snakes like to warn you to keep away . The only time this is not the case is with baby rattlesnakes that have not developed their rattle yet. Unfortunately though they have develop their fangs and venom which is particularly potent. Should you get bitten , immediately try and suck out the poison without ingesting, spit it out immediately. Use a tourniquet on your upper arm or leg to reduce the blood flow to the bite. Get urgent medical help " eeek:
