Having "a drink" with TMR tomorrow
Anyhoo, been wondering about sparing my executor some pain by taking out an insurance plan for my disposal. Have asked for an brochure angel1
You get to choose your own coffin
Anyone had any experience of these (pre-death preferably)?

Experience with coffins or Michael Parkinson funeral saving schemes?
I have let it be known that wailing and gnashing of teeth is to be discouraged and much drink is to flow.
There is no expectation of any other participation on my part.

Well the funeral is taken care of (JLV) and my executor has orders about ashes scattering
Trouble is, payment will be delayed by probate. A plan would pay up front. Just being considerate, like angel1

How about some negotiable bearer bonds in Selection Turnips (Barbados) Inc?
Just buy them and deposit with the Co-op funeral directors in Scunthorpe. simples.
Better start working on my beard as well if the JLV is on the case.

A decent funeral place knows such and will wait for its money

These plans cover a basic funeral but like any such thing it is all in the extras !
Unless you are dying to get the free pen of course lol:
You are best of making clear your wishes , type of casket, type of service, type of flowers ( if any) , preferred charity if no flowers etc , clothing you wish to wear - jewellery you want to burn with you - if you do etc, tunes you want played , where you want your ashes scattered etc.
If you have a will then your executor can handle all of this on your behalf and this can be done quite speedily .

Dad took out one of these for him & one for Mum.
When he died earlier this year we found it quite useful.
One phone call to the insurers & they arranged for the fd to contact us.
He collected Dad from the hospital & brought him back to funeral home, arranged for the vicar, crematorium & collected the ashes afterwards; they also accepted donations & forwarded to monies to the specified charity & sent mum a list of the donors os she could thank them.
The cost included their fees, the coffin, the vicars fee, the crem fee, & one limo. Did not include order of service or flowers (although they can arrange for these).
