Title: Ticker issues
Post by: Marley's Ghost (Imbiber of Spirits) on December 01, 2014, 06:03:43 PM
For those wondering where I've been of late - it turns out I have a completely blocked coronary artery and am now facing open heart bypass surgery  eeek:

Precise definition (for the medically minded) is:

Chronic Total Occlusion of the Left Anterior Descending Artery - or CTO:LAD for short.

A bit scared if I'm honest . . .    scared2: NickSick

Hope you get that treatment soon Marley, must be both a bit debilitating and a concern in the meantime

And what Nick said, well as long as you don't break a leg chasing after the nurses.

Very sorry to hear of your woes.

To echo others, you will be fine. Open heart surgery is almost humdrum these days, I've had two myself  confused:

Just keep up your spirits

Thanks for the kind thoughts folks - first time under the knife despite having reached "pensionerhood".

Will keep you posted . . .

It is only natural to be so feared up .... scared2:

I know we spend forever slagging off our NHS services but I tells you what they do a grand job sometimes and I'm sure you will be getting superb treatment and will guarantee you being around for your loved ones a lot longer

If you don't get better soon we will send Nick to visit - so be warned  lol:

Update:

During Wednesday night, at 4:30 a.m., suddenly woke with the ticker feeling like it wanted to escape from within the ribs!

This carried on most of the night and into the morning.

Felt drained and lethargic all day as in me get up and go had got up and fooked off!

Wife frogmarched me to the quackters where they stuck an ECG on which appeared 'normal'.

Saw G.P. Who is most concerned - "could be a minor heart attack" - "if it happens agin dial 999 immediately!"

 scared2:

Signed me off til mid January . . .

Sort them out. If you present at A&E with chest pains you go to the head of the queue. I have done that twice (blood clot and some infection). Jump the queue.

DO IT
