I always get hooked by this film ::)
Brilliant. I then I end up hours out of synch through watching it late, into the small hours.
As per last night ::)
Lebel: Excuse me, but it has just occurred to me that we have forty-eight hours in which to find this Jackal
[There is a chorus of "What?" and "How do you know?" from the committee members]
Lebel: Am I right in assuming that the President has no engagements outside the Elysee Palace today, tomorrow and Saturday ?
Minister: None.
Lebel: And what is Sunday, August the twenty-fifth?
Minister: [Slaps forehead] Of course! Liberation Day! We must have been blind.
So many classic moments... Old Spice Aftershave anyone?... to conceal the hair dye rubschin:

I am watching it later. Brill film with 2 time schemes: his and theirs.
Nice travelogue too!
-
As you say, brilliant travelogue.... I remember most of those places...
Ah, the market in Ventimiglia ...
-
They don't make 'em like that anymore.
One of my all time favourites is The Servant ~ Absolute Classic ... I watch it often and always find something else in it.
You can keep your Tom (Short-arse) Cruise & Co. Give me some of the good old movies like The Third Man etc.
-
Arrrrghhh... The Servant !!! One of my favourites.
Of many curious trivial favourite moments.. Davy Graham the guitarist in the night club!!
Thomas Crapper & Son ... the 'builders' merchants... eeek:
Then, the lighting, the dialogue, the tension....
Losey & Pinter at their best
How about Accident though ??

Do you know I have never seen it ~ which is a bugger. It's one of those "before I die" things that must be done.
-
You'll enjoy it ... in fact it's a must see ...

I remember (vaguely) being totally mesmerised by Jacqueline Sassard in this one... warm summer, Oxford nights.... rubschin:

Neither have I. Actually I tell a lie, I've seen the opening scenes about five times and then I fall asleep. redface:

I have read it ~ but many years ago ~ the public library did not have a copy Banghead
I am therefore unable to look up the reference you offered.
Of course had a certain person not been camping out in his garden when I called I might have seen it in his library. evil:
Audrey Hepburn ~ Agreed 100%

Well we are agreed then. Mrs Nick#1 was a cross between Hepburn and Jodie Foster cry:
