Title: French wimmin and the spirit of free enterprise
Post by: Nick on July 18, 2013, 10:00:40 AM
I have just finished Antony Beevor's account of the D Day landings

On June 6th 1944 three french gerls witnessed the invasion.

Did they think, "Merde, this is the biggest military operation in history, let's run away"?  No
Did they think, " At last, liberation after 4 years of Nazi occupation">? No

What they thought was, "Look, an empty landing craft. Let's set up a brothel". Which they did. On the beach. On June 6th.

My oldest brother always referred to the "Wide beaches of Normandy".
