NO I DON'T KNOW! STOP ASKING EVER OTHER WORD.
Sorry but just watching the news and the interviewee kept interjecting "you know" almost every other word. Same happened yesterday. ARRRGH!
I just stop hearing anything else but the phrase.

Good rant, and one I've been meaning to touch on for some time, you know. Banghead
I listen to the local radio station for the sports news, and they obviously interview local footie managers and players who are the werst of the lot.....you know.
I've resorted to playing a game now to ease the boredom,by actually trying to guess iwhen they are going to say the dreaded werds, by saying 'you know' out loud before the start of the new sentence.
Trouble is, I now hear it and notice it more in every day life as a consrquence, bit like a 'ear werm'. Banghead

Ditto inserting "Yeah?" at the end of each sentence as if to ensure you were listening. evil:

Responding with "Pardon?" is guaranteed to cause insanity

Absolutely GUARANTEES NO reponse whatsoever from me, unless I'm 100% convinced there may have been a 99% chance of me not being heard first time.
Try it on me on Wednesday and enjoy talking to yerself. eveilgrin:

I have a friend who puts 'and that' at the end of virtually every sentence. I end up waiting for the next one & not listening to what she is saying. redface:

I heard a conversation similar to this last year outside a cafe, and she had a nipper with her, probably around two years old. I just know that he's gonna be dragged up saying it Banghead Banghead Banghead
