Yea, sort of.

Beast 1 WAS a Beast (Suzuki Jimny)  that really did go places where even Landrovers feared, much to the several owners disgust  and embarrasment that witnessed its agilty in amazement and total horror. lol:

 sad32: sad32: sad32:

There was a 'son of Beast two' too at one point. cloud9:

Absolutely gutted when I sold them.
One now in Scotland,(black) the other on Dartmoor (red)

Immense fun and hugely enjoyable off road...apart from the cocky knob heads i had to mix with when green laning.

The business venture was actually quite successful, only the arse hole land owners bolloxed it all up for me with their never ending quotes form the E.A. and DEFRA handbooks regarding such excitement as 'stagnant water' 'ruts' and 'bare tree roots', not forgetting the ban on me advertsing due to lack of planning permission. Banghead

Oh, and let's not forget the obscene P.L. insurance quotes too! Angry9:

Does the gearbox share the engine oil...?

You can only use 20/50 Mineral Oil in a Mini because thinner oil or synthetic can fuck the gearbox right up apparently...  scared2:

If it was me, I'd put 20/50 Mineral in it anyway - wot it was designed for like...  Thumbs:

Ey, another one for you BM.
MoMo is dripping oil on the path, and Mrs G is actually not overly impressed  whistle:

I crawled underneath it last night, and in my estimation i consider it's leaking from simply the sump drain plug. rubschin:
Are the sump washers readily availble for the 'A' series in your experience, 'cus i suspect that's the problem? rubschin:

Well THAT went 'swimmingly'......swimming in piggin' oil. evil:

Loosened off the sump bolt (skinned me knuckles in the process like....got to haven't you ey?  ) held the derty oil can up to the drain 'ole, and watched it pouring out, not actually realising that as I was on me back like, the can I was holding was at an angle, and the derty oil overflowed out of the recess all down me furry arm and onto the path. whistle:

Next, the rermoval of the filter.

2 hours later and a trip to halfrauds to purchase a filter removal tool for 14 snotters, I still couldn't shift the bastard. Angry9:

Think me next door neighbour heard me muttering some swear werds and came out to see what was going on aand gave me a new pair of fresh strong paws to finally shift the utter twat.

CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS....that the toe rag obviously didn't read this time last year when he changed the oil prior to me collecting it................DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. HAND TIGHT ONLY.
Think he must have used a bloody torque wrench, the one I shall be inserting very deeply up his anal passage next time I go in there.

Took the o/s headlight bulb out this avvy, as it's been going on and off on its own, a bit intermittent like.

Going to RE-FIT the headlamp bulb tomozo anyway, in fact, I may have some higher intensity ones 'anging around in the   spider: corner of the garage, so I may upgrade instead.

Then, rear anti roll bar rub down and paint, followed by a wheels off rub down and re-paint refurbishment. Thumbs:

Might have a go at fitting the electronic ignition module that I bought last year too. rubschin:

Be all nice and ready for its first show near Maccclesfield on Monday. cloud9:

These are the original 'sculptered' steel wheels, but the holes are slightly rusty around their edges, and a few rusty stone chips too.

I looked into doing alloy re-furbs, but every man and his dog (literally in one case of one of the mobile lads I know  lol: ) is doing it now, which is driving prices southwards. ::)

Now THAT was actually one of the best shows I'v attended tbqh.

Obviously, the weather has to take most of the credit, probably more so than usual due to the incredible rarity of such summery days now.
Crackin' venue anyway, and many gorgeous cars I've never seen before.
Some really funny and interesting fellow exhibitors too,..... and totty  eyes:... to 'casually' glance at...just in passing like. whistle:
Be downright rude not to.

Hate the coming 'ome bit though...a sure sign of a good day having been had. cloud9:

Why bother?
It's still pissing down. Banghead
.

Can't even put it in its nest as it's soaking wet and  baked in wet shitty mud and grass underneath.

Need to jet wash it and let the wind dry it out underneath before it goes back inside, otherwise any slight trace of rust will accelarate.
I envy you with your generally dry climate. cry:

Many were  packing up and leaving by 1pm, all thouroughly drenched and  totally pissed off. Banghead

Such a shame, as their was a very good turnout of exhibitors too.
Beautiful original DB5, 2 owners from new, immaculate and owned by a very proud (justifiably) elderely gentleman for 45 years.

Car of the show imo was a 1965 barn find Vauhall Viva HA STANDARD. cloud9:
The only remaining one in existance apparently.
Road worthy, but absolutely hanging, just as he found it from its 1 previous armed forces owner.

Interior was absolutely bersting with cobwebs and dust.
Looked like summat out of a horror movie!! lol:

Atrracting mahoosive amounts of attention due to the unique way in showing a car.

Plenty of extremely faded weather beaten grey original paint, dull as dull could be, loads of surface rust, but generally very straight, and with only 43k on the clock too!

Next to it was also an HA, fully refurbished but chavved up.
Think the owner was getting decidely pissed off 'cus all the attention was with the UNMOLESTED Mad Max version. Thumbs:

Talking of unmolested classics, there was also a very very nice and rare vauxhall Cresta estate there, in the then available, amazingly, pink and white colour scheme. eeek:

Absolutely original apart from some absolutely gross vile and disgusting chromed wheel plates that covered the entire wheels.

Excellent read that Apey, but also extremely sad too. sad32:

Must do a check to see just how many, or few, Fiesta mk1's are left. eeek:

Did a check a while ago on my AX GT, as mine was one of about 50 that were registered by Citroen UK upon release.

ALL of them were showing as 'tax liabilty due' on such a such date...years back...latest 2006 iirc, which in essence means they've either been scrapped or moved abroad.
Mine was the only one to be showing as sorned. eeek:

There are a few others around still, but probably less than 100 now.
