He'd be daft to.  If you live in SE UK we hardly ever pay a penny tax to the UK for bottled booze or fags.  Too easy and cheap to spend a fun day in France and overload the suspension on the way back

My prediction is this will be a non budget with maybe some headline grabbing tinkering

He can't afford to make anyone happy, what no one wants is any big surprises

You seem to expect some common sense in the decision making process...?  eeek:

Have a look at the ridiculous state of affairs in Ireland (http://velvetgloveironfist.blogspot.com/2013/03/ireland-clown-prince-of-tobacco-control.html) to see that politicians have no understanding of the Laffer curve whatsoever....  noooo:

Yep I am that trusting fool

Don't get me on Irish taxation with their special low rate of fuel tax to ensure the smuggling trade is well funded.  And then there's that low airport tax to make sure they nick international travel.  And then we give them money for their bail out  Banghead

Well that wasn't too bad was it?

From a personal point of view the budget does me no harm and in fact could benefit me in the medium term.

Balls and Millipede made total arses of themselves.

Lots of high profile but small impact tinkering but the employers NI move was a very welcome step, not that I gain a penny from that
