I'm all for civil protest myself. We have far too less of it these days since the students have given it up in favour of alcopops and playstations.
But leaving that and climate change aside I wonder how some of these people can live.
OK, some of them are students still on summer break, some are retired, some are unemployable no doubt.
"It's been fun so far - I've been topping up my tan while I work," laughs Claire Blatchford, 20, a "full-time protester" who has spent four months at a peace camp outside Faslane naval base in Scotland.
Well, Claire is well prepared and having a good time bless her, but how does a 'full time protester' make a living?
Are they all on the rock'n'roll? Gobfulls of silver spoons and nothing better to do?
"We have to do something," says Gary Dwyer, 34, a care assistant.
A care assistant? Sweet baby Jesus, he isn't caring for anyone at the moment is he?
Ah well, soon enough the hardcore of 'direct action' types will kick off and the police will play the terrorist card. Clare will find her tan little defence against a size 12 police boot and she will need a visit to the tanning place to top it up after a couple of weeks in prison as a suspected terrorist.
Good, Eastenders is getting boring anyway so we might get some good telly out of it.

I?m all for removing the ?right to protest? from anybody not contributing to society (i.e. unemployed or on benefits). I believe by paying into society (through taxes) you earn the right to vote for a government and complain at their actions.
I?d check everybody on these protests and marches through London ? all the unemployed can be thrown out and the other two can continue. It?s simply not fair that people should have their lives disrupted (by protesters) whose only contribution to society is to ponce off it.
Bastards!
