Title: Delivery Tales
Post by: Miss Demeanour on January 25, 2012, 10:11:39 AM
So I ordered an item off t'internet and got the usual confirmation email regarding be delivered within a week etc.

Small item , not of great value ( nor anything smutty before Nick chips in  whistle: )

Got an email yesterday saying will be delivered today  - courier not Royal Mail as I thought it would be.

Then get another email this morning saying will be delivered between 12.04 pm and 13.04 pm  eeek:

Seems awfully specific  rubschin:

We shall wait and see  noooo:

In the very tough world of business (as opposed to the public sector) it is what is known as "improving customer service".
Most courier companies now offer tracking services, this takes it a stage further and keeps you informed as to the progress of your package. All that has happened is that it is scanned as it is loaded on the van and the scanned info calculates a delivery time slot based on the drivers known route and how many parcels he has to deliver before he gets to you which is then passed to you via email. Contrary to popular myth they don't just throw everything in a van and drive around delivering at random. A great deal of planning goes into the operation.

I had also ordered a desk but due to a stock mixup I had to cancel the order. However, it turned up out of the blue a little while back, so I phoned the supplier up and paid direct.

Ordered most of my Xmas pressies off t'internet no probs.
The delivery guys in this area for Amazon are a brother & sister who, knowing that Saddler is a bit deaf, bring the parcels round the back.

Oooooo you can do all sorts of good things with beeswax ~ candles hand made from it sell well at craft shows.

I know a good man who will wholesale you essential oils and fragrances to mix with it and also another who is an excellent supplier of lavender oils (both for scent and cooking purposes)

Most excellent news.  Could you PM me details please Snoops.

I am awaiting a delivery today from a company called Yodel.  I would advise anyone on here who uses courier services to steer well clear. I am almost incandescent with rage at the moment.  A more incompetent bunch of nincompoops would be hard to find.  This lot of nincompoops are extremely hard to find. Their website is shite, there is supposed to be a tracking service, it does not work.  Phone number is premium rate and automated. Yargh:

I am going to go and sit in the corner quietly and tear my hair out take a few deep breaths.

On a completely different note, thanks for the shivering emocion thingy and is it just my computer that is running very very slowly or is it the site?
