We've all forgotten things, house keys, phone, not to let Nick near the microwave. But you are trying to tell me that you forgot about a dead body in the street. Now call me a cynic but seeing as you were told about it while you were on the way to an incident then surely that would have given you the chance to radio it in before you arrived? Or had you decided that it was just some kind of environmentally friendly speed bump?
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has issued an apology after two of its officers forgot to report that a body had been found in the street.
Anthony Hughes, 58, who had died of natural causes, lay near Gorton market for about four hours before emergency services turned up in October 2006.
The officers had been on their way to a firearms incident.
The two officers have been issued with formal warnings as a result of a police internal investigation.
A police spokesman said there had been an internal investigation, adding: "GMP would like to apologise to the deceased's family for any distress this may have caused."
At the inquest into Mr Hughes's death, Manchester coroner Nigel Meadows said: "At the time you heard about the body it was unknown to you if that person was dead or alive, or impossible for you to know if you could have administered first aid."
Recording a verdict of death from natural causes, Mr Meadows said: "The officers involved could not have been more apologetic and regretful."

Are they sure it was dead? it could have been hibernating
-
What could have happened:
Incident Reported 10.05am - Man unconcious in street.
Police Arrive 10.15am - Man dies of shock at quick response.
Emergency Services Arrive 2.15pm - Man vows to haunt two little piggies.
-
Another example of men failing to multi task. You can't report a dead body and be on the way to a firearms incident at the same time - honestly the unrealistic expectations of modern society these days.
(Hi ya to those that know me and especially to those that don't )

Ya see, she's trouble! eeek:

Oi Nick - I haven't even got the axe out yet.
I am still in my induction phase when I am nice to all - including you.

I concur. Can we pop her in the POwder Room?
(I have met her. Scary is too mild. If you saw her in a cinema she would be an X, and even then you'd have to have your Mum with you to hold her hand over your eyes in the bad bits scared2:)
No nightmares now!
-
Nick - I have only been here 5 minutes and you are already tarnishing my non existent reputation.
Don't blame it on sleep deprivation either. I am a nice girl - except when I'm not.

7 posts, smited 3 times, what a welcome point:

I would not have it any other way Mr Happy.

Alright, here goes then...
I'm against smiting, I would give you the clap but that in effect would be smiting if you wanted negative Karma... whacky115
-
Mr H (if I may be that familiar with you)
I am female - therefore whatever you do will be wrong.
To smite or not to smite that is not the question - what colour is the smite now that really can be an issue.
As for giving me the clap or negative Karma - I appreciate your concern. In return for your kindness I won't give you the chop or a backwards slice. Is that fair ?
-
You may be familiar so long as there' not touching involved...

More so than checking if your arse looks big in the smite?
-
Ok Mr H - no touching - my hands are very safely evident above the water line :-)
As for big arses I thought they were very much in vogue these days - after all you see so many of them on the news each day.

Hi Miss D. ~ welcome.
I see there's a piece on the news about coffee protecting one's memory, but it only works for women. Odd that.

Hi Miss D. ~ welcome.
I see there's a piece on the news about coffee protecting one's memory, but it only works for women. Odd that.
The female memory is a highly developed selective piece of engineering. They can never remember promises they have made (especially concerning sex) but can remember in the minutest detail anything you may (or may not) have said in 1972. I don't see that coffee or lack of it is going to change that.
How Rude of me ..... Morning Uncle.
-
Morning Snoopy ~ <pats head>
-
Thanks Uncle M.
As for protecting female memory capabilities (yes I said Memory !!!!) - I fail to see how coffee can enhance this.
The caffeine may produce the results slightly quicker but the ammo is all there and ready to be fired and will be selected as and when required.
As for forgetting about the promises relating to sex - these are not forgotten , just discarded as irrelevant unless we need something from you.
P.S Snoopy - I am having a problem trying to send a PM - is this probably because of the settings on my work pc as it worked last night ? :-(

How ?bout selective deafness ? can coffee fix that? noooo:

Probably ~ some others have had this problem too but you would need to ask Bouncer or someone a lot more technical than me as to why it should be. I THINK it has something to do with restrictions employers place on the use of workplace PCs to prevent people from doing what you are trying to do.
-
Nooo really? Why would they do that?
Selective memory
Selective hearing
They are called selective for a reason. Mr Wench will be attending an exhibition of both this evening when he returns from his third trip to Wales in two weeks in order to replenish his clean stash of boxers. Wench not a happy bunny. evil:

I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, or boxers, for that matter.
In both cases they would also undoubtedly be too tight. whistle:
Welcome Miss D by the way. I assume you are the real thing and not just another poor mimic?

There could be a way around that though, if you are friendly with any of the IT team at work ask them sweetly if there are proxy server settings. If all else fails ask Nick for advice, he'd probably be able to totally knacker the network and if you are lucky allow you to bypass the restrictions. point:

I am sure it is her. It is that underlying permanent hint of PMT which gives her away.
-
Yes I can confirm it is definitely me - I have just checked.
I couldn't imagine why any sad sap would want to pretend to be me anyway eeek:
As for the pm's thanks to those that have - needless to say I am having issues (what's new eh!!!! ) and I can't reply at the moment. But I will laters ;)

10 years for the longest set-up for a joke, but it was worth it

Trigger - If it's a girl they're calling her Sigourney after an actress, and if it's a boy they're naming him Rodney after Dave.
