Title: Some Motobility customers
Post by: GROWLER on November 16, 2011, 11:28:51 PM
Had this owld geezer on the blower today. He's got a disabled kid who uses a wheel chair, and he'd caught the side of the back seat with it and ripped the vinyl off it.

He asked me could I fix it and I said probably, yes, and I'd come out to look at it.

It was goosed but I told him I could fix it for x £'s.

His reply?

I'm not paying anything becuase the car is on hire.

I tried to explain that accidental damage was the responsibility of the hirer, but he was adamant and annoyed, and insisted would not be paying me a penny as he wanted it repairing for free as was his right...in HIS opinion.

I turned away and drove off without any further converasation as i could feel me bladder starting to bubble up. Angry9:

Complete waste of an hour and a fivers worth of fuel. Banghead

Today I feel a bit bad and sad.

Poor old bugger rang me again this morning. Totally confused and bewildered. confused:

Kept asking for me, and I kept telling him it was me, really and honestly.
Started rambling on about the person who gave him a quote for fixing his chair in the bathroom, and I told him that he had mentioned that last week but that he didn't want to pay.

He said he was confused and still wants the car seat repairing/
I've offered to go back out again.

This could be the longest and most drawn out job I've ever done.

I suspect the poor old guy is suffering from dementia. cry:

No, I don't think so BM.
He really was sounding very 'wavery' and confused.
Kept telling me that he thought he'd got the wrong number and was sorry to trouble me.
I kept trying to convince him that he had indeed got through to Growler seat repairs.

He took some convincing.
I've just got a feeling that this old bloke is not all there now sadly.
Horrible if true.

That is a technique you will master when you are older.  ;)

Mrs DS (#3) is a great one for wandering to the front of queues and when people grumble, looking sad then muttering to herself.
Before she can amble to the back of the queue, someone always says "Oh go on then dearie"
