Title: Rally GB
Post by: GROWLER on November 03, 2011, 08:11:21 PM
I SSSSSO much want to go and see this event again, especially as it's coming right up here into North Wales for the first time in a decade, and into my favourite forest that I know so well.  cloud9:
Some of the other stages are quite tasty too, BUT I AM NOT PAYING A THIEVING £99 for the privelidge of being hereded around like a piggin' friggin' sheep to stand in the freezing cold for hours on end, up to me arm pits in mud, and to be told by some mealey mouthed officious H&S directed twat that i can't stand here, i can't stand there, you WILL do as you're told or you'll be physically ejected! Angry9:

I used to marshal regulary on what was the Lombard RAC Rally, and before that The Daily Mirror RAC Rallly  cloud9: so I don't need all this shit now. Banghead
Can't even get 'round it by offering to marshal, as you need certificates of compitance or some other such money making shite now too....and they...the bastard MSA...even charge you to gain THAT!!!

I am so incensed I could instantly combust anytime soon. Explode:

£99  eeek:

I've just been posting on one of me rugby sites. On Tuesday Harlequins RL were "rebranded" and are now London Broncos. Yesterday they announced they were printing off a limited edition t-shirt to mark the event, and as a keen supporter I thought I'd have one. They've put the link up for them tonight... £12.50 for a t-shirt is a bit steep, but I'm prepared to pay it... when I went to the "checkout", it come to £19.00  eeek:   £6.50 p + p for a t-shirt, it must be wrapped in gold leaf, they can f**k right off

When will they realise that for the majority, watching sport is paid for with disposable income, and there's not a lot of that about these days  cussing:

The thing is JOM, the younger generation don's realise just how 'good' we had it in the ole days. whistle:

THIS being ripped off, trousers down, and shirt off your back, take it or fuck off attitude of today is very sadly the norm. now, and they just don't get it, meaning that if they all stand up and tell these money grabbing free loading parasitic breath wasting arse wiping gin swigging turds of our society to STICK their obscene charges right up and beyond their overly fat and stinking arse holes, then this will be accepted as reasonable, and the 'good' ole days will be gone forever.
I'll change that last paragraph in fact.
The 'good' ole days HAVE gone...FOREVER! Angry9:

If you want ANY form of enjoyment now, and this includes standing in a state or privately owned wilderness, freezing your tits off, probably soaked to the skin, tired and hungary with NO facilties whatsoever, apart from a tree of bush to have a gush behind, then some fat cat organisation will fleece and shaft you, good and hard. evil: sick2:
I am quite willing to do that of my own free will, and have done for many years in the past all over England, Scotland and Wales, but I outright refuse to actually PAY for that decision when it isn't actually costing anyone in the first place. The competitors entry fees cover all costs. Banghead
If it was ok in the past, it should be now. evil:

Most most satisfactory, excellent in fact, only I rather you hadn't mentioned the bit about sitting there supping a beer at the same time. cry:

What I found particulary satisfying to see was not so much complete and utter disdain for safety like you get in Greece and France, but a sensible use of common sense like what WE used to be able to do before the hard hat HV jacket clad H&S arse holes took this rancid shit hole of a  cuntry over. cussing:

I was watching a rallying dvd highlights from the 80's last night, which included the catastrophic and tragic loss of life of 4 spectators in Portugal back in 1988...iirc.
The do gooders were initially blaming the sheer power of the then group B cars, but in all honesty, the suicidal tendencies of the speccies over there really had to be seen to be believed! eeek:
Drivers blasting around a corner at over 100mph to be faced with a wall of humans swiftly parting on both sides to leave a narrow gap for the cars to race through.
Not nice to watch, and extremely difficult to understand the mentality of these absolute idiots.
Litt;e wonder that all of the top teams withdrew from that particular event as a mark of respect and of course to send out a strong message to the organisers to clean their act up.

Trouble is, some of them (mainly the MSA in GB) have taken it completely over the top now, and whacked obscene charges on top for the speccies as well. cussing:

Rally GB 2012 back in Wales

Taken from BBC Wales News

The Welsh government is to invest £1.4m in next year's Wales Rally GB.

Business Minister Edwina Hart made the announcement ahead of the race's finish at Cardiff Castle, where she will present the prizes on Sunday.

Ms Hart said the rally brought benefits to Wales, including to retailers and hotels along the race stages "at a quieter time of year".

The minister said Wales has 30,000 people employed in automotive manufacturing, retail and maintenance with an annual turn over of £3bn.

Ms Hart said: "The value of the relationship between the staging of Wales Rally GB and Wales' automotive sector should not be underestimated".

"The rally provides an ideal platform for Wales to showcase its wide range of capabilities and technologies to the global automotive market.

"With the funding now in place, we can look forward to an even greater event in 2012," she said.

We hope to keep bringing innovation and fresh thinking to the rally”

Andrew Coe, chief executive of Wales Rally GB's organiser, International Motor Sports Limited, said: "We are delighted to be able to extend our relationship with Wales for 2012, as we bring the event to an even greater audience and build on the success of the last decade in Wales.

"We hope to keep bringing innovation and fresh thinking to the rally and are delighted that the Welsh government has committed to joining us on this journey for 2012."

The grant funding is made up of a guaranteed cash sum of up to £1.2n and additional performance related payments of up to £200,000 linked to ticket sales and the generation of other commercial revenue, including private sector sponsorship.

I've used up and burnt out more than my quota of bladders on this subject now tbh.
Bloody sad and weary over the whole miserable ££££money££££grabbing affair. KER CHING! Angry9:

I must confess I found it funny that the organisers are sooooooooooooooo good at ....errrr.... organising that they allowed a Spanish spectator in a hired car to drive along the wrong side of the road being used by the rally cars. You have to admit that speaks volumes for their organisational abilities.

That Spaniard will be telling his grandchildren about the time "When I was a young man I gotta smashed offa da road in da GB Rally".

Such is the stuff of legends.........
The story will grow in the telling throughout future generations. In fifty years his grandsons will be telling their kids how Great Grandpa was a rally driver and would have won the thing had he not been forced off the road ...... etc....   ::)

Short for mother fucker. A person who thinks they are the shit, dressed down with sagging pants, a high need for a belt, too much gold to make the national reserve jealous, and an attitude that stems from not having parents who knew how to refrain from the use of crack cocaine.
"Hey Dave, look at that putz...man what a mofo."

It's all kickin' off now, and two of them are at me, one resorting to more personal insults. ::)
Quite acceptable with someone you know, but NOT from some arse wipe who you've never conversed with before. evil:

Not sure if I should suitably respond with equally vile insults, (bit childish) GC style whistle: totally ignore or report. rubschin:

'Kin keyboard warriors ey? ::)
