Title: Car hire abroad
Post by: GROWLER on November 01, 2011, 01:26:56 PM
 Angry9:

Bloody thieving scheming bastards they are. cussing:

Booked online before I went.
Upon arrival I'm greeted by a couple of surley looking Spanish bints who spoke crap English....how convienient when I have questions to ask ey? ::)

"You want excess cover"?

"Gorrit tar gerl"

"No no no, you no understandio. That what you have only covers for others hitting you. You no read small print that requires you to possibly have extra extra cover for damage to tyres, glass, keys losing, and undercarriage etc etc?

"NO"! Banghead

"We take 400 euros on you credito card just in case, unless you want to payio another 7 euros a day, yes"?

NO chance, and oh, btw, I'm well pissed off, as are the now  gathering crowd behind me and the other surley Spanish bint giving me the evil eyes. evil:

"You bring car back empty btw"

"Wha' "? confused:

"We fill car up and you use what you need and bring it back empty. That'll be 95 MORE Euros please." eeek:

"But what if I don't use all the fuel? Do I get rebate, and what rate per litre are you charging me for this extortion?

"No, I don't understand what you mean.

Snatches keys and storms off in a 'uff.

Stitched up like a kipper again, and with virtually no kip in over 24 hours, I'm not in the mood for trying to reason any longer.

Needless to say, they got the car back running on fumes only. Finger:

When I used to fly to Holland I always used Hertz ..... no extras, car waiting at the airport, pick it up full of go-juice, take it back the same way.

This is true. I shall only book with reputable and well known companies in future.
By the time I'd been stitched up on the outrageous and very cunning fuel scam (that I've not come across before tbh) it probably wouldn't have been any dearer tbh. Banghead
Couldn't even get someone to come and check the car over with me for damage either, so I had to note it and go trailing all around the bloody piggin' car parks trying to find the returns office to get them to stamp up my noted biffs and bangs.

Name and shame?

RECORD GO. cussing:

Anyway you, I'll need a off roading DRIVING experience after the MeMi show  if I'm coming out there like.
Up in the proper Troodos 'ills too, none of this maby pamby messing around in a couple of dusty potholes like. noooo:

Think it is the rally on monday..............wonder if BM is allowed out......... rubschin:

Special stage on Thursday night in the town centre!  cloud9:

Bet they're not charging you to go stand and watch it either ey, unlike in this rancid shit HOLE called GB? cussing:
I am NOT going to pay somewhere in the region of 30 quid to go and shiver and be shephered'd around like a friggin' lost sheep up the Gt Orme in Llandudno or one of the other forests that the WRC is fina;;y re-visiting again in just 10 days time.
I'd ssssso like to go and watch like I used to religiously every year for decades.

Just another pastime/hobby/something to follow/enjoyment that has been swallowed up by fat greedy money grabbing bastards. Finger: Explode:

No, free I think...

Entrance to parc fermé by five o'clock to see the cars.... then this spacial stage around the town...

Then possibly up in the mountains tomorrer like...

When can you get here...?

I piggin well wish! sad32:

Is this a national clubman rally then?

Rallying scene is dying a very sad and slow death in this country now, thanks in the main to the FIA/MSA and all the other gin swigging thieving toffs that are 'in charge' and making the rules up as they bumble along.
They make me want to  sick2: violently.  Angry9:

No... (http://www.cyprusrally.com.cy/2011/)

It's live on Eurosport apparently.
haven't got Eurosport on this rancid digi box crap thing. Banghead

Wonder if it's being streamed on this thing elsewhere? rubschin:

You might see me there!

Rain forecast for tomorrer tho....  evil:
