Sodding people who work in Accounts departments
« on: January 24, 2018, 12:58:58 PM »
Why are they all so weird.

I send an invoice to Gupta.
He replies that the PO number is wrong and he can't pay it.
I check and find the PO number is right.
I send him a copy of the contract with the PO number clearly marked on it
He says that PO number belongs to a different supplier
I tell him that he can clearly Banghead see that it is my name Banghead, my contract Banghead and my PO number Banghead
No, says he. You are wrong. cussing:

I may have to phone him cussing: cussing:

Had a similar problem with Vodafone. After cancelling the contract that I had for the sprogs I phoned up to arrange for a small credit balance to be repaid. I quoted the account number off a copy invoice I had together with by address. They came back and said that the account number didn't match the address they had so they wouldn't talk to me.  Banghead

I had to physically take the invoice into on of their shops to get them sort it out.

The problem is that these days the fines for any kind of breach of the Data Protection Act are astronomical and while I was still working in data management they were talking about going down the OFCOM route and issuing fines to the company, the directors and the member(s) of staff responsible for the leak. It was bound to cause a level of panic and paranoia within companies.  noooo:
Some days I think the only thing keeping me from becoming homicidal is that the voices can't agree on which weapon would be the most fun.

Sounds like the system we operate  noooo:

We have a list of outstanding debts sent to us every month. No name , address or reference it could relate to.  Just the invoice number. However we don't create this only the PO.

What also helps is they don't inform us of when something has been paid so we can't close cases, remove land charges etc.

You can't speak to anyone directly - you have to 'log an issue' and they have no time frames in which they are required to respond.

Proper excellent service it is  noooo: noooo: noooo:
