Just been on-line to Amazon technical support about the busted phone - superb!  eeek:

Chatted to some bloke supposedly called Claudiu-Florentin who didn't work through a set script of, "is it switched on?', etc. but appreciated that I had worked out what the fault was...

...new phone in the post!  cloud9:

EDIT: New phone arrives tomorrow!  Shocked:

Either that or when he saw your name come up he realised that the phone was FUBAR and just sent a replacement instead...  rubschin:

So can we conclude you wish to withdraw this post?
Got my new phone...  cloud9:

Moto G4 Plus...  Thumbs:

No, 'tis a great phone (shortly to be LL's great phone) but my new phone is greaterer....

And as far as customer service and support goes, I suspect that LL's new Moto G4 Plus will be even more greaterer than the Elephone...

I was seduced by the deca-core processor...  redface:

At this point I should normally have extolled how good the iPhone is

but

Having waited for IOS 11 to get to the .03 'surely they've fixed the fuck ups by now' revision I went for it

Big mistake  evil:

Well summed up here:  https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2017/10/17/apple-ios-11-0-3-problems-ios-11-problem-iphone-battery-life/#57e86087e336

Or in brief: it fucks the battery
Well, whatever nevermind

Just found out that my contract is set to end in december so I'm due for an upgrade in a few weeks.  cloud9:

Time to look at Three's special hidden offers to see what I can try and blag...
Some days I think the only thing keeping me from becoming homicidal is that the voices can't agree on which weapon would be the most fun.

Progress eh...?  noooo:

It does still amaze me how Micro$oft (Piss Be Upon Them) manage to update a billionteen hand-built PCs made with a combination of premium parts, discarded shite and Lego bricks on a regular basis without fucking the whole lot up completely once in a while...  rubschin:
