I inform the Duchess that I am visiting on Friday. Her reply? Perhaps you can take some stuff from her flat to "wherever she has moved to". Um, shouldn't you know where you mother is?

Reply. "I can take other stuff when I see her in September"

SEPTEMBER?????
;D

How about tell the Duchess that the Guardian have asked you to write an article on abuses of PoA and is it OK to use her name?

The DUchess suggests that she may need clean clothing  Banghead Banghead

I suggest that this is her responsibility but that I can stop off at M&S en route if she gives me a list of items in the correct size and she can reimburse me later. She is not happy about this  cussing: cussing: cussing:

All my Sis has asked for via text is "a boxcar"  rubschin:

Ward Sister calls from the hospital. The Duchess has called them to tell them that I must not be allowed to visit Big Sis tomorrow. She claims I will upset her.

Ward Sister says "I have thanked her for her advice but told her that she has no authority to do this. WHat time do you want to visit?"

I am thinking of hiring a contract killer

Dementia wards are not pleasant, especially the screaming, the commodes and the heat.

Took Big Sis toiletries and clean nighties, towels and flannels.

Had to show her how to cool herself with baby wipes.

The nighties were too small, so have to return them to M&S

Stepdaughters going today but the DUCHESS has FORBIDDEN them to take nighties!! WHY??

I am fit to kill

They are scared of her
Sadly there's only one way to treat a bully, make them scared back

Surely you could start a rumour in her husband's legal circles about a newspaper investigation

I wrote to my nephew in KL last night

"It should be no surprise to you by now that I am very concerned about your mum (I saw her again yesterday) and even more concerned about the way that Susan is handling this (yes, thin ice). Your stepsisters are being wonderful but they are terrified of Susan,  They told me today that they dare not collect nightdresses from WP as this is not on "the list". Incidentally, Susan prohibited them from talking to me last year when I first brought this up. We have happily ignored this command.

I am not sure if you are fully aware of what is going on. I am acutely aware that this seems to be some sort of minefield, but my concern is for my sister and her welfare.

I have refrained from posting about my visit yesterday as last time I did this I got rebuked for being "negative".  Frankly, what Susan is doing is neglect verging on abuse. There, I said it. I have thought this for nearly a year, since she first told your mum that I was "going around saying she had Alzheimer's".  Perhaps Susan should go and see her.  I took her toiletries and fruit and new towels and things yesterday.

OK

She is in a shit place
She can barely speak
She was dirty and cannot wash herself. She gets showered twice a week!
She cannot now walk
She cannot cook
I had to show her how to use baby wipes across her face and neck to cool herself
Her clothes are soiled
SHe is in great pain

I suggest:

Private care post hospital release
Massive care package on return to WP OR Private residential care

Give me a call if you want to discuss this

As ever, I urge you to get to see her asap and maybe someone should sub Paul for a flight over too, so that he can. She is not going to improve and she will deteriorate. A bit of gentle leg pulling can elicit a small twinkle in the eye, but that needs close personal contact.

In the end yesterday all I could do was to sit and hold her hand. Please try to get to see her. And put some pressure on Susan. "

His reply in full:

I am heavily involved in the sale of my oil exploration company in the USA and need to be able to travel to the US at short notice any time between now and probably December. I canít do this from the UK so there are a basket of issues that are holding me back.

Thanks for the note and all the best.

David

Could you contact Social Services and report the abuse?  Because abuse is what it is
