I have been inside two, one in Gosport and one in Birkenhead. In the first Mrs Nick got claustrophobia and came over all queer.

In the scond The Boy got cluastrophobia and ran through it screaming, trying to get out.

They have a U boat in Birkenhead too!

Most submarines (IME) are a sort of battle-ship grey. Have you any contrary experience then Nick?

Well, someone had to say it!

Hello. Iam here. Can't read EVERY thread you know. ::)

Yes it is Nick, and I'd loved to have seen them move it a few months ago when it had to make way for that bloody OAP's flats conversion thingy.

I had some small plastic submarines that i got free in a cornflakes packet when i was a nipper.
You put some baking powder or summat inside them, and they sunk and rose again. Bloody ace they were and I remember them fondly. cloud9:

Can you still get them anywhere, as I'd like to re-visit me childhood.
Some here say I've never left it? ::)
