Two more men including a policeman have been charged with the murder of a barrister's clerk in a bar in London's Square Mile.

One of them is City of London Police officer Adam Lowe, 26, of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.

Lee Cook, 21, died after being attacked at the Alibi Bar in Shoe Lane in the capital's financial district last Friday.

Two other men have been charged with murder. They are Lloyd Moore, 26, a portfolio administrator, of Epping, Essex, and Rick Maynard, 27, a product designer, of Woodford Green, Essex.

City of London Police Commander Patrick Rice said: "We are deeply disappointed that one of our officers has been charged in connection with this investigation. He has been suspended from duty and justice must now take its course.

"The community can rest assured that we will continue to carry out a robust and thorough inquiry to ensure those responsible for Lee Cook's death are brought to justice."

Lowe and Moore will appear at City of London Magistrates' Court on Friday. Maynard was remanded in custody yesterday until November 1.

Mr Cook was with two friends at the bar, which was packed with more than 200 people, when he was attacked.
