 My dear wife has just been reunited with her brother after 37years  cloud9: Why the loss of contact ?? A stupid family argument of which neither can remember what it was about. Banghead

So common in todays world but such a loss of years that can't be recouperated . Anyway they have a lot of catching up to do .  happ096

Nice to hear good news but if they are anything like my family they will be arguing again before the month is out.

I have fallen out with one of my bestest friends (of over 20 years) this year ... and we haven't spoken since June  sad24:.

I miss her like mad  sad24:

I have tried a couple of times since to sort this out but due to things happening in her life she has changed dramatically this year and her judgement calls are way off  - not that I am a judgemental person- but her whole perspective on things is completely warped .

 I can't see myself trying again  noooo:

I made contact with my father earlier this year after a 30 year gap. He has vascular dementia. I am still not 100% convinced that he knows who I am.
Sometimes life stinks.

That's a bummer Beerhead.

Lost my dad to dementia ... He didn't have a clue who I was towards the end ... upset me so much I couldn't face visiting him and then he died. I now regret not having been there, even if he didn't know who I was I still feel I could and should have made the effort to say those things I now wish I had said ..... some of them might have got through.

Easier said than done sometimes.  I fell out with a friend in my late 20's that I really regretted; it still preys on my mind from time to time and have even tried to make contact to no avail.  cry:

On the parental side, being close to them in their final days was one of the most distressing but important events for me.

During last nights antics a couple of jock laydees who have been friends for 30 years fell out big time.

As par for the course both were very pished, one picks up a cat by the scruff of the neck and swings it around (much to the disappointment of everyone else in the bar), "that is how their mothers pick them up...what is wrong?" was shouted from her foul mouth.

The other jock laydee points out that is only when they are kittens and not when they are old and fat (reminds me of my ex wife  whistle:).

So I get asked in unison by the jockettes how you should pick up a cat......

apparently "with a shovel" was not the best answer.

I am not either of their friends anymore, not sure why?  whistle:
