Well, there'd be no fun in getting the same one would there?  We could play "Mine's bigger 'n' better than yours" like  ;)

This one looks good  razz:  Better price at Amazon than John Lewis and a cool demo vid on the site. Only problem is the model number is a BM450  rubschin:

Should I buy or should I fly?

How much you reckon you can make a loaf for then Pasty?

I'm seriously considering getting one pf these too with the predicted massive price hike due.

Just need a petrol and diesel making machine now....and no, I can't run on converted/cleaned chip fat unfortunately.  cry:

I haven't costed it out tbh but as someone who likes to eat bread whether it's sarnies or with a meal, soup or whatever it HAS to make sense. I imagine like most things you could probably cut the cost by 50% by doing it yourself. We have a farmer's market up the road every Saturday and there's a guy who sells the most delicious walnut loaf, but for 3 quid a pop!  eeek: . But it's not only that, it's the pleasure and enjoyment factor and of course experimenting  razz:

Let's say I buy a breadmaker for £100; and use it for 2 years, ok, that 14p a day and then the powering costs added to that. I wouldn't say it's a great saving but neither is it a great luxury. It's a difference and a choice  cloud9:

For a basic loaf the cost of ingredients works out as per:
Flour (Lidl Strong Bread Flour) 69p per bag (currently priced) Makes 3 "large" loaves
Dried Yeast (Morrisons) 8 sachets (1 per loaf) 80p
Teaspoon Sugar, pinch of salt, Teaspoon olive oil, Water from tap.
So in theory we are, at current prices, making a loaf for about £0.43

Remember that other "brands" of flour (Hovis for example) currently cost well over a £1 a bag.

For some reason known only to the German mind Lidl sell bread flour but not yeast  Banghead
