Saw a link to a Guns n Roses concert with the new line up so gave it a try, if they were a tribute band they would be okay(ish). Having said that if you only have one of the original members still in it does that automatically class you as one, hell the guitarist is only a poodle perm away from looking like a cheap Slash clone.  rubschin:

I have to admit I did see a tribute act when I was in Ipswich that was a hell of a lot better and if you look at the audience you can tell who is watching them for the first time and who can remember when they were seriously good live.

Sad to see once greats just doing half hearted tours for the money.  I really ought to give that Chinese Democracy another listen.

But great they once were

It's not just Axl getting on and feeling the effects of the booze and drugs, compared to artists like the Rolling Stones the man is a bloody lightweight, the replacement members don't have the same power as the original line up. They can play the songs but it's nowhere near the same.  noooo:

Speaking of the Rolling Stones, I'd have loved to have been in that bar...

One of those rare times where the cover is better than the original, Jimmy Barnes just gets better with age

That was one of the biggest drawbacks of working for callcentres, even on the technical side and not on the call floor you still get bombarded with tuneless talentless pop shite. It took me a while to be able to separate listening for pleasure from enduring work based crap.

As for your mongs, this is probable a more suitable version of the song I suggested you end the night with...  eveilgrin:

Didn't realise it till I looked at some live footage but these guys are German not Irish, if the lead singer slurred his words a little more he'd sound pretty much just like Shane McGowan  eeek:
