The Queen's elite bodyguards are reportedly queuing up for seats to watch the women's beach volleyball at the London Olympics, which will be taking place three years from now.

The games in 2012 will be held on the historic Horse Guards Parade, where Trooping the Colour takes place, and the office of Army bigwig Major General William Cubitt has a superb bird's eye view of the action.

It is said that red-blooded senior officers in the Household Cavalry and the five Guards regiments who protect Her Majesty quickly noted the spot.

"There was a flood of applications. They are queuing up to get their places three years in advance"

Lots of grinding poverty in Rio I here.

Lots of massive slums for the tourists to look at.

And murder, lots of it.
